Nearly 2,600 students received degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in commencement exercises May 7 and 8.
Jeff Raikes, chief executive officer of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and benefactor of the Jeffrey S. Raikes School of Computer Science and Management at UNL, delivered the commencement address May 8 to some 2,000 graduates in the baccalaureate ceremony at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.
P. Stephen Baenziger, university professor and Eugene W. Price professor of agronomy at UNL, delivered the address to approximately 470 recipients of advanced degrees May 7 at the Devaney Center. The Hon. William Jay Riley of Omaha, chief judge of the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, delivered the address to 120 graduates at the Law College commencement May 8 at the Lied Center for Performing Arts.
The degree recipients are from 44 states, the District of Columbia, and 45 countries.
The graduates include students who earned degrees from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and the University of Nebraska Medical Center in programs offered on the UNL campus.

EXETER: Stefani Ann Mark, Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, B.S. in animal science.
FAIRMONT: Derrick Timothy Krienert, Engineering, B.S. in construction management; Andrea Nichole McCoy, Public Affairs and Community Service (UNO), B.S. in criminology and criminal justice; Cassandra Marie Stephenson, Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, B.S. in animal science.
GENEVA: Paige Christina Farmer, Education and Human Sciences, B.S. in education and human sciences; Luke Robert Hollis, Arts and Sciences, bachelor of arts with high distinction; Nathan Richard Hughes, Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, B.S. in diversified agricultural studies; Bryant Allan Jefferson, Business Administration, B.S. in business administration; Emlyn Grace Wilkins Short, Arts and Sciences, bachelor of arts; Patrick Dillon Webb, Arts and Sciences, bachelor of arts.
GRAFTON: Reid Michael Ely, Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, B.S. in agribusiness; Heather Leigh Smith, Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, B.S. in agribusiness.
