800 Shows

By Signal Staff

And they said she wouldn't last,  LOL.
Helen Johnson's performance last week at Heritage Crossings in Geneva marked a full-circle journey for the Geneva songstress.  Johnson performed her "Helen's Musical Hats!" show for the first time on September 26, 2011, at Heritage Crossings.  Her performance last Tuesday, July 25, marked the 800th time Johnson has put on her special popular show, which features popular songs that our older generation can sing along with and also easily recognize.
"I was expecting to have my 800th show at the Nebraska State Fair in August, but as it turns out, I picked up more shows in July so this bumped it up to today," Johnson said.  "I guess I've come full circle. It must be karma."
Johnson played 22 dates in July, which included stops in Louisville, Council Bluffs, Fairbury, Superior, Broken Bow, Stromsburg, Osceola, York, Dorchester, Geneva and Lincoln.  Most all of these shows were Patriotic Themes except her performances at the 60th High School Class Reunion in Broken Bow and for the United Methodist Women's Guest Night Salad Supper, which was a Broadway Show.
Johnson is also featured on a new CD, which includes 17 older Nebraska songs written mostly by Nebraska musical talents.  It's release coincides with Nebraska's 150th birthday.
