BDS Improves to 22-3; Plays Meridian In Other CRC Semi-final Game

Bruning-Davenport/Shickley advanced to play top-seeded Meridian in the CRC Volleyball Tournament semi-finals on Monday after a pair of wins in York.  The 22-3 fourth-seeded Eagles downed High Plains in two sets and Nebraska Lutheran in three sets on Saturday.
The CRC final will be played at 7 p.m., at the York City Auditorium, while the third-place match begins at 6 p.m.  
Prior to CRC action, BDS downed High Plains 25-11, 25-10, and got past Lawrence/Nelson 25-23, 25-16, on Thursday.
The Eagles got off to a strong start against the Storm behind 10 serving points from Sera Johnson.  Carley Elznic thumped six kills in the win.  Regan Alfs smacked nine kills and had 10 assists.  Jadyn Kleinschmidt added four kills and 13 assists.
BDS fell behind the Raiders 11-4 in the nightcap before tying the match up at 22, and eventually winning the first set, 25-23.  The home squad was much more consistent in the second set.
Elznic smacked a dozen kills against L/N and Macy Kamler had seven. Alfs nailed six kills.  Kleinschmidt tallied 14 ace sets and Alfs had 13.  Megan Grote paced the defense with 13 digs.  Grote also belted an ace serve and served for nine points.  Elznic also thumped an ace serve and served up eight points.
Last Tuesday, BDS defeated Dorcheser 25-16, 25-18, and McCool Junction 25-22, 25-13.
