Stroh new Geneva clerk/treasurer

By Signal Staff

Geneva Mayor Rod Norrie nominated Geneva Senior Center director Kelly Stroh for the vacant Geneva city clerk/treasurer position at the Geneva City Council’s regularly-scheduled meeting last week.  The city council unanimously approved Norrie’s appointment and Stroh told the city council she hopes to slowly transition over to her new post and help leave the senior center in a good position. Stroh has worked at the senior center for 3.5 years,
“I’m ready to contribute to the city in different, new ways,” she said.
Also on November 6, the city council instructed City Attorney Joe Bixby to draw up a Resolution to start the process of adding a handicap parking space near Geneva Super Foods. The city council also vacated an alley going north from M Street and between 10th Street and 11th Street.
Craig Blake with CBLAKE, LLC., of Waverly will be the new city Keno operator. Geneva City Admin. Kyle Svec told the council that the Sales Tax Economic Development Committee has opted not to pursue the land up for sale by the FC School District.
