Mother's Club Celebrates Christmas

The Geneva Mother's Club met on December 7, at 11:30 a.m., at the Heritage Crossings multi-purpose room for the annual Christmas party. The table was decorated in a Christmas theme. President Mariann Anderson led the group in prayer. A dinner of turkey casserole, sweet potato casserole, Japanese vegetables, craberry slices and muffins was enjoyed by the 14 members present.
President Mariann opened the meeting with all joining in the Flag Salute. Favorite Christmas carols was the topic for roll call. The secretary's report was read and approved. Carol Sthrothkamp stated the treasury balance. A thank-you card was read from Blue Valley. Dorothy Peterson thanked the club for the card she reevied. Members gave a generous donation for the hospital auxiliary Star of Health project. The birthday song was sung for Evelyn Hugues, Nancy Domling and Dee Godown. Mariann gave everyone a word puzzle and she also read some clever jokes.
Everyone enjoyed the traditional game of Bingo and winning the prizes of note pads. The afternoon climaxed with the serving of homemade pumpkin pie, topped with cool whip. A picture was taken of the club. Everyone missed Dee Schwisow.
The next meeting will be January 4. Nancy Domling is the hostess and Dorothy Peterson and Mariann Anderosn have the program. Roll call will be to reveal a favoite winter pastime.
