Nichols Qualifies For State XC

Panther Garrett Nichols qualified for the 2018 NSAA State Cross Country Championships with a 10th place finish at the C-1 District Meet in Raymond.  The Fillmore Central sophomore clipped the tape in 17 minutes, 54 seconds.  The Class D boys race starts at 1 p.m. this Friday, October 19, at the Kearney Country Club.
Conner Nun was next for the Panther boys with a season best time of 19:57.  Isaiah Lauby and Riley Hiatt finished out the scoring for FC.  The Panther boys were eighth in the team standings.
Teneal Barbur ran the best for the FC girls last Thursday with a 17th place finish in 22:25.
"This was a career record for Teneal and she just missed out at state as a freshman," Panther coach Brandi Conway said.

Lauryn Monteforte placed 23rd for the Panthers and Jackie Schelkopf was next.  The FC girls landed in fifth place in the team standings.
