E-M Earns Third At CRC Tournament

Exeter-Milligan's lone defeat in the 2019 CRC Basketball Tournament was a two-point set back to defending champion Giltner.  The 13-4 Timberwolves (No. 7 in wildcard points in Class D-2) also rolled past East Butler and outlasted Cross County in a three OT thriller to earn third in York.
Jackson Beethe pumped in 30 points in the Timberwolves' 64-60 win over Class C-2, 11-8 Cross County in the CRC consolation final.  Spencer Pribyl netted 11 points and snagged 10 rebounds in the three overtime victory.  Max Zeleny scored 11 points, grabbed eight boards and dished out four assists in the win. Trevor Zelenka had five points and Colton Bossaller had four.  Johnny Babula scored three points.
E-M was up 23-19 at halftime before the Cougars owned the third stanza, 20-7.  The Timberwolves battled back to tie the contest at 45-all in regulation. E-M had big chances to win the first and second overtimes, but failed to do so, as both teams scored six points in the first two extra sessions.  The Timberwolves prevailed 7-3 in the final overtime period.  Up just one point at 61-60, Bossaller went 2-for-2 from the free-throw line to put the Timberwolves up for good.
E-M fell to Giltner, 34-32, in one semi-final contest.  The Hornets were up one at halftime, 21-20.  The Timberwolves led 29-25 after three periods of play.
Bossaller scored 16 points in the loss.  Pribyl and Zeleny both added seven points and Beethe was held to just two points. E-M shot just 27 percent (11-for-40) from the field in the set back.
E-M opened up CRC play with a 64-34 thumping of East Butler.  Beethe scored 27 points against the Tigers.  Both Zeleny and Bossaller had 11 points. Pribyl had five points and nine rebounds.
