Timberwolves Compete In Meridian Invite

The Exeter-Milligan girls scored 91 points on Wednesday, April 3, at the 2019 Meridian Invite.  The Timberwolves landed in third place in Friend in the team standings behind Sterling and McCool Junction.  The E-M boys finished in fifth place in the team standings at the nine-team meet with 55 points.  Sterling was also the boys' team champions followed by McCool Junction and Diller-Odell.  High Plains was fourth.
As usual, the Timberwolf girls were best on the track scoring 24 points in the sprint events and 21 in the distance events.  E-M scored 11 points in the hurdles and notched 25 points in the relays.  The field events yielded only nine points.
The E-M girls won two relay races last week.  The Timberwolf quartet of Jaiden Papik, Kate Jansky, Maddie Luzum and Cameran Jansky combined to win the 1,600-meter relay in 4 minutes, 55.9 seconds.  Papik, K. Jansky, C. Jansky and Cammie Harrison teamed up to win the 3,200-meter relay in 11:17.90.  Kayla Geiger, Katelyn Babula, Emma Olsen and Luzum combined to place third in the 400-meter relay in 59.05.
Individual medals for the E-M girls were earned by: Katherine White, third, 100-meter dash, 13.58; White, third, 200-meter dash, 28.82; Papik, second, 400-meter dash, 67.17; C. Jansky, sixth, 400-meter dash, 1:10.16; K. Jansky, eighth, 400-meter dash, 1:10.62; Papik, third, 800-meter run, 2:43.77; C. Jansky, fourth, 800-meter run, 2:51.88; K. Jansky, fifth, 800-meter run, 2:54.47; Harrison, fourth 1,600-meter run, 6:40.47; Natalie Staskal, eight, 1,600-meter run, 8:00.00; White, fourth, 100-meter hurdles, 18.10; White, third, 300-meter hurdles, 54.53; Luzum, fifth, pole vault, 7-0; Briana Capek, fifth, discus, 81-7; Georgia Meyer, eighth, discus, 74-10.
The Timberwolf boys scored 17 points on the track; 12 points in the hurdles; six points in the relays and 20 points in the field.
Both Spencer Pribyl and Jackson Beethe earned four medals in Friend.  Pribyl teamed up with Blake Steuben, Luis Jaegermann and Clint Oldehoeft to earn third place in the 3,200-meter relay in 9:44.44.  The Timberwolf senior was also fifth in the discus, 124-4; seventh in the 400-meter dash, 56.27; and runner-up in the 800-meter run, 2:16.74.  Beethe placed second in the 110-meter hurdles, 19:37; fifth in the 300-meter hurdles, 48.43; fourth in the high jump, 5-2; and third in the long jump, 17-6.25.

Additional points in Friend were earned by:  Steuben, sixth in the 800-meter run, 2:38.62; Jaegermann, fifth in the 3,200-meter run, 13:03.8; and Steuben, fourth in the long jump, 16-7.
