The Fillmore Central Panthers were defeated by the Sandy Creek Cougars 43-30 in girls basketball action on Thursday, Feb. 2 at Milford High School in the semi-finals of the Southern Nebraska Conference Tournament.

“One of our goals was to be conference champions,” FC coach Mark Madison said. “We were disappointed we couldn’t find a way to win. We held Sandy Creek to their third lowest scoring total of the year. Our defense tonight was exactly what we needed to win. We just need to finish our possessions offensively. We will watch film, find areas to continue to improve and play them again next week. We’re looking forward to it.”
