Everyone knows where they were on September 11, 2001, but most people have forgotten where they were the day before that awful day.
On September 10, 2001, Omaha native Rob Quillen was flying from Denver, Colo., to Newark, N.J. He happened to sit beside United Airlines Pilot Jason Dahl.
They visited about NASCAR racing, vacations, life and dreams and a deep connection was made. Captain Dahl was the pilot of Flight 93 which crashed near Shanksville, Pa., on September 11 as the courageous passengers and crew fought back against the terrorists.
The experience of making a new friend, only to lost him the next day, had a huge impact on Rob.
He will be speaking about his experience on Sunday, July 24, at the Milligan Methodist Church at 9:15 a.m.
He will speak the same day at the Fairmont Community church at 11 a.m.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
Rob is married to Sue Anne Quillen, daughter of Jerry and Nancy Jo Galusha of Fairmont
