The BDS Eagles downed the Cross County Cougars 43-36 in girls basketball Friday, Dec. 17 at Davenport as the winners led after each quarter.
“We played a very solid defensive game and held our opponent to just 12 field goals for the entire game,” said BDS co-head coach Michael Brown. “Caressa Reinsch had a great offensive game for us with 11 points while Shelby Garland led the defensive side of the stats with 10 steals. This was a good win for our team and will go a long way for our confidence going into the holiday break.”
The Eagles jumped ahead 10-8 after the first quarter, led 25-19 at halftime, and then held a lead of 36-26 going into the final period.
BDS hit 1 of 11 three-point attempts and sank 8 of 19 from the line. The Eagles made 16 of 41 field goal attempts, while Cross County was 12 of 29 from the field. Cross County sank 0 of 2 three-point tries and hit 12 of 20 free throw tries.
