A 12 member choir from various towns and churches around the area recently completed its 2011 Christmas Cantata tour. The first performance was given at the Milligan United Methodist Church on December 6. They also sang on December 13 at St John’s Lutheran Church in Ohiowa. The choir took a short break to spend the holidays with their families, and then traveled to Peace Lutheran Church in Plymouth on January 8 and Zion Lutheran Church in Sutton on January 15. The performance in Sutton was shared with soldiers in Afghanistan via Skype.
The choir is under the direction of Deb Brunkow. The choir began in the Milligan United Methodist Church, but has grown to include members from Ohiowa, Exeter, and Lincoln. They enjoy the opportunity to share their music throughout the surrounding communities.
Guest singers were Alison Brunkow-Schwanke, and Allee Kuska.
John Kassik was the program narrator. Soloists were Deb Brunkow, Sharon Kuska, Vicki Ozenbaugh, Alison Brunkow-Schwanke, and Allee Kuska. Dressed in vintage clothing, JoAnn and Dan Vavra, performed a sentimental waltz.
