The Citizen’s State Bank of Carleton was recently named by MSN Money as one of the 359 safest banks in America.
MSN Money in a website which offers personal finance and investment news. Citizens State Bank was one of 23 financial institutions in Nebraska to receive this recognition.
A special metric known as the Texas Ratio was used to determine the safest banks in America. The Texas Ratio was used to correctly predict bank failures in Texas and New England in the 1980’s and early 1990’s.
Mike Van Cleef, CEO and president of Citizens State Bank said the bank follows sound banking practices. “We are fortunate to be in a very good farming area with excellent farmers and customers.”
The bank serves customers in the Thayer, Fillmore and Jefferson counties and surrounding areas. Over the past five years the bank has built on an addition including a conference room, two offices and an ATM to help service its customers’ needs.
The bank currently has six employees with 119 years experience.
