FC Boys 2nd; Five Panthers Medal At Home

The Fillmore Central boys took runner-up honors at the 2014 FC Cross Country Meet, while the Panther girls landed in seventh place in the team standings at the 16-team meet.  Milford were team champions on the boys’ side on September 18, while Malcolm was tops in the girls’ race on Thursday.
The meet took place at the Hidden Hills Country Club in rural Geneva.  In all, five Panthers finished in the Top 15 and medalled at the invite.
Conrad Schelkopf paced the FC boys with a fifth-place finish (18 minutes, 5.9 seconds), while teammate Adam Hoarty wasn’t far behind in seventh (18:14.6).  FC’s Garrett Whitley placed 13th in Geneva with a clocking of 18:40.1.  Noah Temme clipped the tape in 19:20.0 to claim 21st at the meet.  Chandler Schelkopf landed in 59th position of the 99 runners. Cole Jividen was 62nd.
Panther Grace Jacobson was a solid fifth place in the girls’ race covering the course in 21:27.1.  Teammate Emilee Kennel took 10th in a time of 22:32.3.  Rounding out the placings for the FC girls were Sophia Frook (46th) and Melissa Rosenquist (61st).  A total of 83 girls ran Thursday.
The Panthers are in action again this Thursday in Hebron.  Geneva has also recently been selected to host this year’s District meet.
