On December 1, the Fillmore Central Players traveled to Clay Center for the District C1-1 one act play competition. The group performed at 1:15 p.m. and was the sixth play to perform on a day that included eight performances. Fillmore Central was awarded three first-place rankings by the three judges and was named the winner of the competition. The runner-up championship was awarded to Sutton. Thayer Central took third place.
Six members were nominated for outstanding acting awards. These students were: Nicholas Eichelberger, Brevann Nun, Ben Baltzer, Turner Barbur, Brittany Kremer and Lindsey Stoldorf. Lindsey was named the Overall Outstanding Actress of the District.
The team travels to Norfolk on Thursday, December 11, where they will be one of six teams competing for the State Championship. Class C-1 action starts at 2:15 p.m. and will conclude at 6:30 p.m. with an awards ceremony immediately following.
Teams competing in the Class C-1 State Tournament this year are Fillmore Central, Crofton, Louisville, Malcolm, Hartington-Newcastle and Ravenna. You can follow along with the state one act action and results at nsaahome.org.
