Garden Care Workshop

Wednesday, August 15, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Davenport Community Center.

Stones Thoreau invites you to participate in the next in a series on gardening. This session will include important new information for backyard gardeners and those developing food based businesses.

This month the topics will include:

Pest and Disease Problems, Watering Techniques and Garden Design.

The presenters for this workshop are:

· Don Siffring is an Extension Educator and a 6 year Master Gardener with the University of Nebraska. He is also professor emeritus with UNL’s Institute of Agriculture.

· Dan Gillespie is the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service’s – No-till Specialist. Using his rainfall simulator, Dan will provide a powerful visual demonstration that shows how to best capture and retain water in soils – particularly important during the current drought.
