GHS/FC Alumni Banquet This Saturday

The Geneva/Fillmore Central High School Alumni Association will be honoring graduates that have served in the military, past and present, along with the special honor classes of 1960 and 1990 at the alumni banquet on Saturday, May 29, at the Fillmore County Ag Hall.

The program, which will begin at 6:30 p.m., has been finalized. Jim Steider ‘70 will give the invocation. The winner of the Howard Hamilton Scholarship will be announced. Lynn Jones of Lincoln will speak for the Class of 1960 and introductions of the class will be done by Sheri Lynn Decker of Portland, Ore.

Speaking for the Class of 1990 will be Tracy Nichols Pettit of Albuquerque N.M., and Jon Stofer of Geneva will introduce the class. Emilie Workentine will speak for the graduating class of 2010.

President Kari Jo Matejka Alfs has also prepared a special presentation to honor our graduates that have served in the military. Catering the meal will be Bubba’s Anytime Café of Strang. Cactus Hill will be playing at a dance to follow the banquet.

1965-John and JoAnn Lefever Edgecombe will host an open house at 1230 K on Saturday.

1960-Friday at 6:30 p.m., for buffet at Bubba’s in Strang and Saturday will meet at Geneva Java at 12:30 p.m., for lunch from menu.

1955-No plans at this time.

1950-V. F. W. on Friday for meal at 5 p.m.

1945-Saturday afternoon from 2-4 p.m., at the Congregational Church Fellowship Hall.

1940-Saturday afternoon from 2-4 p.m. at the Congregational Church Fellowship Hall.
