The BDS Eagles were topped by the Giltner Hornets 47-34 in boys basketball Friday, Jan. 7 at Giltner as the Eagles shot just 30 percent from the field.
Giltner stands at 11-0 and is state rated No. 1 in D-2.
“Our first quarter offensive production really hurt our overall effort,” said BDS Coach Fred Kluck. “We were trying to climb back into the game all night long.”
The Eagles fell behind 13-3 after the first quarter, but advantages of 9-7 and 10-7 in the second and third quarters sliced the deficit to only 27-22 going into the final period.
The BDS season mark fell to 7-3.
BDS connected on 5 of 16 three-point attempts and made 5 of 7 free throw attempts. The Eagles sank 7 of 23 field goals, while Giltner was 13 of 29 from the field. Giltner hit 0 of 5 three-pointers and connected on 13 of 21 free throw tries.
