Nebraska Postmaster of the Year

Peggy Roit, postmaster at Ohiowa, was named the Nebraska Postmaster of the Year of the National League of Postmasters at their annual convention in Hastings.

Reuben Schmale, 2009 Postmaster of the Year, presented the prestigious plaque to Roit on April 24.

Roit’s passion is PMR’s which is where she began her career with the Postal Service in 1999 in Ohiowa. She was appointed postmaster there in 2005. She is a member of the National League of Postmaster’s Effective Service Committee and is a vice president of the Nebraska branch.

Members of her family who surprised her by being present at the event were her husband, Marvin; son, Luther; daughters, Marilouise, Kristine, Jessica and granddaugher, Karlie.

As Nebraska’s Postmaster of the Year, Roit will be in competition for the national Postmaster of the Year at the National League of Postmasters’ annual convention in San Diego in July.
