New warning system

Fillmore County Emergency Management is installing a comprehensive emergency notification system to send severe weather warnings, emergency alerts and community announcements.  This “AlertSense” is a free service that makes it easy to receive alerts.  Individuals and businesses are urged to register by going to the Fillmore County webpage at and clicking on the AlertSense icon in the lower right hand corner.  Individuals can also download the free MyAlerts app from the Google Play Store or the App Store.

Registration for this service is especially important for those who use a cellular or VoIP phone as their primary number, have an unlisted phone number, or who have changed their phone number or address within the past year.  The alerts sent from the county will come through with the caller ID displaying 877-957-9563.

For more information on this change from the present “CodeRED” system, contact Jim Dunker at 402-759-4932.
