Sell-out Crowd At Cancer Dinner

A sell-out crowd of 160 ladies gathered in the San Carlos room at the Friend Historical Society building October 28 for support of breast cancer research.

The festive decorations carried out the theme to celebrate breast cancer research, breast cancer survivors, and to remember loved ones.

The second annual “For Boobs Only” fund-raiser began with an evening of socializing and viewing the live auction items reflecting the breast cancer theme.

Attendees were able to purchase a decorated pink themed martini glass or a “box of sox” providing further fund-raising opportunities.

T. Marni Voss provided a hilarious insight into life with her after dinner entertainment. The evening ended with a live auction featuring Linda Underwood as auctioneer.

The event’s success was thanks in part to everyone’s generosity.

The evening raised over $16,000 and the net proceeds will be split between the American Cancer Society and the Susan G. Komen Foundation to be designated to breast cancer research.
