Shickley Community Foundation Grants

The Shickley Community Foundation awarded $18,627.47 at its most recent round of semi-annual grants.  
Some of the recipients were Fillmore County Coalition, $1,500 for youth leadership/drug prevention program; Shickley Cemetery Association, $1,450 for capital improvements; Shickley Sons of American Legion, $1,400 for legionnaire monument; Shickley youth basketball program received $500 for jerseys; Shickley Public School was awarded $2,100 for scholarships to benefit Shickley school teachers taking master level college classes; $300 was granted for third grade stability chairs, $250 for fitness program, $400 for post prom expenses and $400 for athletic equipment; and the Fillmore County Hospital Auxillary was awarded $1,000 for nursing student scholarships.

To date, the earnings of the Shickley Community Foundation Endowment fund has produced 220 grants that have totaled nearly $215,000.

Shickley Early Learning received $400 for a four-seat stroller.

The third annual Entreprenuership Camp received a $1,200 grant. Shown (above) is Judy Lichti visiting Brianna Janning’s booth at the marketplace.

The Shickley Fire Dept received $1,180 for grain evacuation equipment.  Craig Berg, of Outstate Data, is shown demonstrating the equipment to members of the Shickley Fire Department.

A total of $2,500 was disbursed for a new community recycle trailer.
