Stengels To Be State Fair Grand Marshals

Dale and Jeanette Stengel of Geneva have been selected to serve as the Grand Marshals for the Nebraska State Fair Celebration Parade on Wednesday, August 29.
Dale has served on the Fillmore County Ag Society for more than forty-six years.  During his tenure, he was instrumental in the growth of the 4-H Livestock sale, which led to the growth of both the 4-H and FFA programs within the county.  Dale also supervised many of the building projects for the fair including the Ag Exhibition Hall in 1989, as well as the building of the new sheep, cattle, hog and small animal barns, show arena, horse arena and camper sites at the Fair.
Dale and his wife, Jeanette have five children; Terry, Douglas, Mark, Shari and Maria, and are proud grandparents to many grandchildren.
The Stengels will be special guests of the Nebraska State Fair.  A reception will be held in their honor, and they will lead the daily parade at 1:30 p.m.
The Nebraska State Fair is in its ninth year in Grand Island and runs from Friday, August 24 through Monday, September 3. Around 379,108 people attended the Nebraska State Fair last year over its 11-day run.
