The Exeter-Milligan and Bruning-Davenport/Shickley track teams enjoyed plenty of success at the 2010 E-M Track Meet last Tuesday in McCool Junction.
The Timberwolf girls won the team title with 134.5 points, while the Eagle girls were just a few points behind with 126 points. The Hampton boys were team champions on April 20 with 105 points. B-D/S was a close second with 99 points and E-M was a very near fourth with 93.
Eagle standout Shelby Garland earned gold medals in four events at the eight-team invite. The sophomore speedster zipped to victories in the 100-meter (12.64 seconds) and 200-meter (26.88) dashes. Garland also triumphed in the long jump (16-feet, 2-inches) and the triple jump (34-4) in McCool Junction.
Cynthia Mick won three gold medals for the Eagles. Mick cleared 9-6 to win the pole vault and also rolled to victories in both hurdle events—16.95 in the 100-meter hurdles and 50.13 in the 300-meter hurdles.
The E-M girls swept all the relay events on Tuesday. The Timberwolves prevailed in the 400-meter relay in 55.39 seconds the 1,600-meter relay in 4:28.87; and in the 3,200-meter relay in 10:37.10. Jennifer Pribyl struck gold twice individually for the Timberwolves with wins in the 400-meter dash (52.9) and the 800-meter run (2:30.61).
Chloe Breitbach was strong in the throws for the Timberwolves winning the discus with a toss of 110-3 and taking second in the shot put (30-5).

Ryan Harre paced the efforts of the local boys at the E-M Invite. The Timberwolf senior flashed his speed to win the 100-meter dash in 11.2 seconds and also took gold in the 200-meter dash in 23.39 seconds. The E-M 3,200-meter relay team also triumphed at the meet in a winning time of 9:04.36.
Eagle Derek Swartzendruber cleared 6-0 to win the high jump in McCool Junction. Teammate William Mick soared over 13-4 to win the pole vault. Garrett Zoucha of B-D/S prevailed in the 400-meter dash in 53.11 seconds and teammate Mitch Schroeder was golden in the 1,600-meter run in 5:03.07. The Eagle 1,600-meter relay team won its event at the meet in 3:46.22, which barely beat the Timberwolf quartet to the line (3:46.38).
