FC Elementary Ribbon Cutting takes place; first of 3 such events for the school district

An official Ribbon Cutting took place at 4:30 p.m., on Wednesday, September 9, in front of the Fillmore Central Elementary School in eastern Geneva. A decent crowd of FC teachers, patrons and representatives from BVH Architecture and Hausmann Construction attended the event.
FC Superintendent Josh Cumpston and FCE Principal Aaron Veleba talked briefly. Cumpston thanked those who attended the event from the FC community. He also said, the elementary school will be nice to use for many years to come. Veleba agreed and noted the new secure entry portion.
School Board President Chad Engle thanked everyone for their attendance. “This is the first stage of three we’re planning on doing with our bond project.”
Current construction is taking on place on the FC High School campus that will bring the middle school to Geneva, along with a new performance gym and auditorium/theatre. Extensive renovation will also take place at the FCHS.
Engle thanked the community for its ongoing support and the teaching staff at the FCE for its contributions to the school’s re-purposing.
He also said, he feels FC, when the bond project is completed, will have the finest facilities of any Class C school district in Nebraska.
