Memorial Day 2020…

Despite the rainy weekend, the Franklin Post No. 193 American Legion family took time to honor our fallen heroes in observance of Memorial Day. On Saturday morning, members of the Legion and Sons of the American Legion met and put out 110 American Flags at the Ohiowa Public Cemetery. On Memorial Day, a service was held at the cemetery. A cloudy misty morning mimicked the somber attitude at the Memorial Day program at the Exeter Cemetery on Monday, May 25.The program was abbreviated due to the COVID-19 virus. Most of the attendees listened from their vehicles. Exeter-Milligan senior Caitlin Murphy closed the program by playing “Taps” and Jaiden Papik played “Taps Echo.”
