COVID-19 cancelling Memorial Day services

American Flags will be put up as usual at the Geneva Public Cemetery before this Memorial Day weekend. American Legion Post No. 68 Commander Martin Seward reports, unfortunately, there will no Memorial Day program this year at the Geneva Cemetery.
“I’ve been instructed from the national level to not have any group program…function,” Seward said. “I’m answering to someone above…I feel bad we can’t have a program.”
Seward said the small, personal flags will not be placed on grave holders this year due to group limitations. He said people interested in placing a flag on their family veteran’s grave marker can go to the All American Office location at 141 N. 10th Street in Geneva during regular business hours to pick up a flag. People with questions should call Seward at 402-759-4911.
American Legion Post No. 164 has also cancelled its annual Memorial Day services in Shickley due to COVID-19.
