New directives from State of Nebraska education officials state that Nebraska schools should remain closed through April. A statement last week from the Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA) stated all activity practices and competitions are suspended through May 1. These suspensions may be extended should the conditions warrant. Member schools and student-participants are expected to adhere to the NSAA Constitution & Bylaws and activity manuals during this time. The NSAA encourages all member schools to follow CDC, local, state and federal health department recommendations.
Fillmore Central Superintendent Mark Norvell was blunt in a recent letter to school district patrons on the school’s website—”I wish this wouldn’t have to happen, but I believe we need to come to the realization that we won’t be getting together this school year.”
