BDS Remains Undefeated

It took an extra period again for the Eagles to stay undefeated, as Bruning-Davenport/Shickley got past Lourdes Central Catholic Friday night 26-18 in Bruning. In Overtime, BDS scored in just two plays and the Knights were unable to do the same in six plays.
“We have had to deal with a lot of adversity,” Eagle co-head coach Mark Rotter said. “Our kids are sticking together and fighting through it.”
Eagle scatback Aaron Mick scored three times for the home team and picked up 138 yards on the ground. Mick also had 38 yards receiving.
“Aaron had touchdown runs of 30, 19 and five,” Eagle co-head coach Chris Ardissono said. “He was breaking tackles and making defenders miss on the long runs.”
BDS quarterback Dylan Domeier rushed for 56 yards and a score and had 46 yards passing. Nolan Weber caught one ball for four yards and Isaac Else had a three-yard reception. Blake Schlegel recovered a fumble for a PAT.
BDS had nine first downs, compared to seven for its opponent. Lourdes CC had 355 total yards of offense, compared to 296 for the Eagles. Both teams had a turnover.
Zach Mosier and Else both had 17 tackles. Weber and Tanner Wenske were both in on 16 stops.
Ardissono was extra proud of his defensive ends in the victory.
“They struggled running inside and outside,” he said. “And, there was pressure on their QB when he was passing.”
Hunter Cox was in on 14 tackles for BDS and Domeier made 11 stops.
BDS travels to Southern this Friday night for another key contest.
