Raising Funds For Geneva Community Center

A large group of donors and supporters of the Geneva Community Center gathered before the Monday, August 17, Geneva City Council meeting to signify the successful beginning of the push to fulfill the local match portion of the Wilkins Family Trust. To qualify for the local private match donations, committee members have been challenged to raise $150,000 from businesses. As of Tuesday, August 18, at total of $103,000 has been donated. When $150,000 is raised, the Wilkins Foundation will double donations for a total contribution of $450,000. Donations will be accepted until September 8. Pledge paperwork can be found at the Geneva City Office located at 167 S. 10th Street. “We have exciting news we are sharing here tonight,” Geneva Council President Josh Turner said. “This is something to really be proud about.” Councilwoman Joni Karcher agreed. “I am super excited to get come traction going again on this project.”
