GAC Concert Series begins this Sunday

The Geneva Arts Council’s (GAC) 2019-2020 season opens this Sunday, September 22, at 2 p.m. at the historic Geneva City Auditorium/Rialto II Theatre with singer guitarist Dustin West who will perform his popular John Denver-Johnny Cash Tribute Show.
West, who was raised in a family of musicians, remembers the family sing-alongs at Grandma’s house. Dustin first picked up the guitar at age 12 and soon joined his dad and uncle in those family jam sessions. For several years, he was lead vocalist and guitarist for a band that performed hundreds of tribute shows in venues across the Midwest.
West’s high-quality performance features favorite tunes from two all time great singer-songwriters: John Denver and Johnny Cash. Whether hearing these popular classics for the first time or whether these tunes rewind your memory, Dustin West is entertaining and loves to engage his audiences.
Other scheduled GAC events for the 2019-2020 performance season include the play “Love, Loss, and What I Wore” by the Beatrice Community Players, soulful singer Tara Vaughan’s SHE ROCKS concert, and A Classical Vocal Recital featuring Ashten Purviance-Smith and guest performers. Season tickets for these four events cost $30 and are available at the door the day of the performance or order by mail—Geneva Arts Council, P.O. Box 54, Geneva, NE 68361. Individual performance tickets cost $15.
The GAC is supported in part by the Nebraska Arts Council, the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, the National Endowment for the Arts, the City of Geneva, the Fillmore County Foundation, the Mary Tous Charitable Foundation and private contributors, including IPSCO Steel, Inc.-Geneva Works, Heartland Bank and many generous individuals.
