|Fillmore County 4-H Speech Contest Winners Named|

Eight 4-H members were awarded ribbons in the Fillmore County 4-H Public Speaking Contest, held April 12 at the Geneva Public Library.
4-H members in Junior (9-11 years of age), Intermediate (12-13 years of age) and Senior divisions (14-18 years of age), prepared an original speech or Public Service Announcement about 4-H. Novices (8-11 years of age) prepared a speech or recited a favorite story or poem.
Ribbon winners in each division were:
Novice Speech Division: Sadie Birky, purple,
Junior Speech Division: Caitlin Murphy, purple, champion; Erin Schmidt, purple, reserve champion; Nadia Larsen, blue and Tori Stoldorf, purple.
Intermediate Speech Division: Nicole Swartzendruber, purple, champion; Alexis Schmidt, purple, reserve champion.
Public Service Announcement: Grace Jacobson, purple, champion; Alexis Schmidt, purple, reserve champion and Erin Schmidt, blue.
The top three youth in the Junior and Intermediate speech and PSA divisions will represent Fillmore County at the Southeast Regional Contest May 24 at the Animal Science Building on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln East Campus. Representing Fillmore County in speech is: Caitlin Murphy, Erin Schmidt, Tori Stoldorf, Alexis Schmidt, and Nicole Swartzendruber. Advancing in PSA is Grace Jacobson, Alexis Schmidt and Erin Schmidt.
