Fillmore Central FBLA Back To School Activities

The 2018-2019 school year is in full swing in Geneva, and the Fillmore Central Chapter of FBLA has been busy. With recruitment in mind, the group began the year by hosting a table at the school orientation on August 12.
To begin their season, the officers held a kickoff meeting on August 23 to welcome both returning and new members. At the meeting, the students enjoyed an Italian buffet, courtesy of the FBLA Booster Parents, and competed against each other in a scavenger hunt game. Toward the end of the night, members had the opportunity to sign up to help with the Heritage Crossing Carnival, which would be held on September 9.
When the day arrived, 19 FC FBLA students were in attendance at the carnival, making sure all the guests present had an enjoyable time. They operated different games such as bingo, plinko, bowling, and many more.
On September 11, the first official meeting of the year was held. President Ryan Poppert shared the chapter handbook with members in attendance. New members were inducted into the Fillmore Central chapter through a special ceremony conducted by the officer team. The meeting ended with an activity where members attended round table discussions led by the officers on the pillars of FBLA including service, leadership, and business education along with opportunities to use creativity and enhance information technology skills throughout the school year.
With the annual China Luncheon and Scare on The Square on the horizon in October, it’s a guarantee that the Fillmore Central Chapter of FBLA will be busy for months to come.
